This GALLUS T-shirt commemorates the mass escape of Allied airmen from the German prisoner-of-war camp Stalag Luft III on the night of 24–25 March 1944. Seventy-six men escaped through the tunnel known as Harry; most were recaptured and fifty were murdered by the Gestapo on Hitler’s orders.

The design is intended as a restrained tribute to the planning, determination and sacrifice behind the real event — not simply the film that later made the story famous.
