This design focuses on the small garrison that defended Rorke’s Drift after the disaster at Isandlwana on 22 January 1879. We chose the “139” theme because it turns attention away from a generic battle image and toward the human scale of the action: a very small number of men holding a confined position through an extraordinary night.

The weathered treatment is intended as a respectful historical tribute, not a piece of theatrical ‘warrior’ branding.
