Royal Navy — 1914–1918.
During the First World War the Royal Navy protected sea routes, enforced the blockade of Germany and fought the German High Seas Fleet, most famously at Jutland in 1916. We chose this subject because the naval war is often less visible than the trenches, yet control of the sea was fundamental to Britain’s ability to fight a global war.
The battleship illustration and faded print treatment give the shirt the character of an old naval poster rather than a modern military graphic.
