The First World War reshaped Europe and left millions dead, wounded or missing across armies and civilian populations. In Britain and across the Commonwealth, the years 1914–1918 remain inseparable from remembrance ceremonies, memorials and the names carved into local monuments.

We chose a weathered, restrained treatment because the dates themselves carry enough weight. The design is intended to feel closer to an old memorial inscription or archival image than a modern military graphic.
