This map-led design represents the geography of Britain’s long campaign in Afghanistan, where districts, river valleys, irrigation networks and stretches of open desert became names familiar far beyond the map. We chose Helmand because the terrain itself shaped so much of the experience of the campaign, and a map can acknowledge that history without pretending to tell any one person’s story.

The weathered Green Zone treatment is deliberately restrained — more field map than modern tactical branding.
