The vast training area at Suffield in Canada has allowed British units to conduct large-scale manoeuvre training for decades, using open prairie and long distances that are difficult to reproduce in the UK. Night operations add another layer: navigation, coordination and tactical movement when normal visual reference points disappear.

We chose the night-operations scene because BATUS is remembered not just as a place but as a particular style of training — big terrain, long days and activity continuing after dark. The design is a location-led military heritage piece rather than a generic night-vision graphic.
