Amiens, 8 August 1918.
The Battle of Amiens opened the Allied Hundred Days Offensive and marked a decisive shift in the final months of the First World War. British, Australian, Canadian and French forces combined infantry, artillery, tanks and aircraft to achieve a major advance. We chose Amiens because it represents the transition from the static image of trench warfare to the fast-moving operations that helped bring the war to an end.
The soldier-led vintage artwork keeps the emphasis on the people and period rather than turning the battle into a victory slogan.
