Stalag Luft III, near Sagan — now Żagań in Poland. This coordinates design is tied to the actual prisoner-of-war camp used for captured Allied airmen during the Second World War.

The camp is best known for the mass escape of 24–25 March 1944. Seventy-six prisoners escaped through Tunnel Harry; most were recaptured and fifty were murdered by the Gestapo. The design keeps the focus on the real place and event rather than the later film mythology.
