The Great Escape 1944 T-Shirt — Stalag Luft III Tribute

Stalag Luft III, 24–25 March 1944. This design marks the Allied prisoner-of-war escape from the camp at Sagan, now Żagań in Poland.

Seventy-six airmen escaped through tunnel Harry. Most were recaptured, and fifty of the recaptured men were murdered by the Gestapo on Hitler’s orders. Gallus keeps that documented history at the centre rather than repeating the later film as if it were the event itself.
