Rorke’s Drift 1879 T-Shirt — Anglo-Zulu War Battle

Rorke’s Drift, 22–23 January 1879. This illustrated T-shirt marks the defence of the mission station immediately after the British defeat at Isandlwana.

The garrison was centred on B Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Regiment of Foot, but the defence also depended on engineers, medical personnel, commissariat staff, colonial troops and others. Opposing them was a large Zulu force under Prince Dabulamanzi kaMpande. The battle deserves more than a film version or a handful of famous names.
